New Zoo
The new site has arrived! If you're new to the Rhubarb Zoo we'd like to extend a warm and hearty welcome to you - and suggest that you download our first short film for free from the Ectype's End page. If you want to hear about the release of our next short film Entropy or the upcoming Rhubarb Zoo web series, we highly recommend signing up to our newsletter for news and silliness as it happens.Entropy in the New Zealand International Film Festival
We are very excited to announce that the latest Rhubarb Zoo short film, Entropy, will be screening at the 40th New Zealand International Film Festival, as part of Homegrown Programme 3. Every year, Homegrown showcases a selection of New Zealand-made short films as part of the NZIFF, the biggest film festival in the country, so we’re very proud to be a part of this very prestigious event!
Homegrown Programme 3 will be playing in:
Auckland, 25-Jul-2008, 5:45PM and 26-Jul-2008, 2:30PM
Wellington, 1-Aug-2008, 6:15PM and 3-Aug-2008, 6:00PM
Check the Film Festival website for more details, also there should be booklets available from all kinds of places, usually outside the Civic in Auckland, don’t know about Wellington, I think libraries have them.
We’ll certainly be there for the Auckland screenings, so please come along if you’d like to support us and see some Rhubarb Zoo animation on the big screen!
Some new news, and some old news
Hey everybody!
Updates to this site may be far and few between but we assure you that we have indeed been working hard.
This has already been announced elsewhere but we’re proud to officially announce the completion of our second short film, Entropy. We have been submitting it to film festivals and will let you know if we have any luck with that. We’ve also updated the Entropy section of the website with a couple of new screenshots and new versions of the old ones, which you can see here. Eventually the film will be made available to purchase in some form or another, more details on that will be posted closer to the time.
We’ve been busy writing the story to our upcoming web series, tentatively titled Caleb’s Trial, for which we’ve started a blog so you can follow the progress of its creation. The development of the series is fairly slow going for the moment but will ramp up quite a bit when we get into designing the characters and environments. So the blog probably won’t be updated too often for the first few months, but it should get more interesting later on.
Last but not least, we released the Ectype’s End soundtrack (along with a brand new bonus track) which you can find here. Sometime soon we’ll also make the mp3 of Ode to James available to download as well with a couple of remixes of it.

Happy New Year from Ruzu
Hey guys,
Over the last month or so we’ve had some great exposure for Ectype’s End and Rhubarb Zoo. We’ve been featured on Channel Frederator’s Christmas blog (go check it out!) and have recieved a trillion lovely comments on our Rhubarb Zoo DeviantArt Page (largely due to Ectype’s End being featured as a Daily Deviation).
So to everyone that has discovered us or spread the word over the last wee while we want to send a ridiculously huge thanks your way, with hugs and kisses an optional extra. We hope you have a fantastic new year and are ready for what we’re cooking up for 2008!
J and Dane
Welcome to Rhubarb Zoo!
