New Zoo
Welcome to Rhubarb Zoo! If you're new to the site, we'd like to extend a warm and hearty welcome to you. We have two short films online, Ectype's End and Entropy. Please check them out. If you'd like to hear (or rather, read) when we have news of any future projects, we highly recommend signing up to our newsletter.Entropy WAS in the Krok International Animation Film Festival
My sincerest apologies for posting this after the event but Entropy screened (out of competition) in the Krok International Animation Film Festival this year, which took place in Russia. This is the second film festival that Entropy was accepted by, and the first film festival outside of New Zealand that we’ve been a part of, which is a real honour. Although the festival ended on the 30th of September, the website can be seen here.
Sorry once again about posting this late, especially if we do have any fans in Russia who wanted to see it. I’ll try to make sure I keep on top of updating the site if anything important comes up in future.
Entropy in the New Zealand International Film Festival
We are very excited to announce that the latest Rhubarb Zoo short film, Entropy, will be screening at the 40th New Zealand International Film Festival, as part of Homegrown Programme 3. Every year, Homegrown showcases a selection of New Zealand-made short films as part of the NZIFF, the biggest film festival in the country, so we’re very proud to be a part of this very prestigious event!
Homegrown Programme 3 will be playing in:
Auckland, 25-Jul-2008, 5:45PM and 26-Jul-2008, 2:30PM
Wellington, 1-Aug-2008, 6:15PM and 3-Aug-2008, 6:00PM
Check the Film Festival website for more details, also there should be booklets available from all kinds of places, usually outside the Civic in Auckland, don’t know about Wellington, I think libraries have them.
We’ll certainly be there for the Auckland screenings, so please come along if you’d like to support us and see some Rhubarb Zoo animation on the big screen!
Rhubarb Zoo at Armageddon
As you can probably see from the main page, Rhubarb Zoo is going to have a stand at Armageddon this year, 21st-23rd October in the Free Comics section. For those who can’t go we’re planning to upload some video interviews and photographs from the event so you can be there in spirit. Ectype’s End is finished and has gone to the printers, we’ll be selling copies for $2 each so you can hardly complain about your wallet being abused - not only that but these are limited edition, once they’re gone, they’re GONE. Y’hear?
So a little bit more about Ectype’s End for those who are interested, all done by Jeremy Hay and Dane Jacobs. Music by Dane Jacobs. Well that was easy.
See you all at Armageddon!
Welcome to Rhubarb Zoo!
